CONSERVATION & RESTORATION SERVICES

GILDING AND GILDING RESTORATION
Using materials and techniques that have remained unchanged throughout the centuries, NLdeV Restoration uses traditional water and oil gilding as well as the latest conservation methods to consolidate, clean, replicate missing carved elements with 9 to 24 carat genuine or metal leaf on wood, plaster, drywall or metal.
Gilding is used on ceilings for foyers, lobbies, on architectural elements such as picture and mirror frames, crown moldings, architectural wall frames, chair railings, raised elements on fireplace mantles and so much more.
Whether you preserve a frame, go Rococo style on your sofa, or add a touch of gold or silver to your living room crown moldings, gilded elements give an unsurpassed sense of opulence and elegance to your home.

CUSTOM WALL AND CABINETRY REFINISHING
We don't always need to replace our entire cabinetry to change the look of our kitchen, bathroom or library. Whether you want a darker, richer look without stripping, or an expensive glazed look by painting and glazing your varnished cabinets, you can save thousands over the cost of new cabinets and contribute to the environment by giving your old woodwork a fresh look.

DESK LEATHER REPLACEMENT
A good desk is a usable desk. Leather has been used for centuries to protect and decorate furniture, and desk leather gets a particularly harsh treatment, exposed to ink, glue, cups and glasses, cigarette burns and heat on a regular basis. If your desk leather has reached a point of no return, it is time to change it and start enjoying your desk again. NLdeV Restoration will clean your desk of its old leather and replace it with a high quality leather from France, in the color and finish of your choice. Your desk will be ready in less than two weeks time.

HOME MAINTENANCE CONTRACT
A care free contract for year round professional care of your antique furniture
Collecting antique furniture does not stop at purchasing or restoring a piece. Natural variations in temperature and humidity, dust, cleaning and simple daily use affect wood's health and appearance. Proper care and maintenance not only enhance the beauty and warmth of your home, it also helps prevent extensive and expensive restoration work which in turn affect the value of your antiques.
You may not have the time to care for your antiques yourself, and it is not always easy to leave them in the care of a general cleaning service. It is at the request of my faithful clients that I have developed a home maintenance contract:
Twice a year, I personally come tour your home, wax or clean (depending on each piece's needs) all your wooden furniture and address all issues that can be addressed during my visit. Should I run into larger projects, I will provide you with a detailed description of the work needed for each piece and the estimated cost of restoration.
